English Language Challenges Well, this is the last blog. There were some that I could not upload or had problems doing so, but I highly value this space of the subject. Anyway, hi everyone! To begin with, my experience with the English subject at the university has had mixed opinions. The previous English ones I had to find with a teacher who, perhaps because of the online modality, did not give me any motivation when it came to participating in classes. This semester was different, because we had you as a teacher and that changed everything. Personally, it has given me the space to function in public, since I had developed anxiety problems due to the pandemic (I still have them, but I have been advancing step by step); you give us a comfortable space to participate, without pressure, and criticism is always said in a good way (not like my previous English teachers at this university XD). I was lucky to have a good base of English at school, but over the years it’s lost if one do...

My Dream Job

Imagen
I'm currently 26 years old, and it was very difficult for me to find what would be the profession that I would really like to practice. When I was in school, I always liked math, to the point that the teachers guided me to study a career that had math as its main axis. That's how I first studied a couple of engineering degrees for several years (first commercial engineering, then industrial civil engineering). I realized that it really wasn't my thing. I liked math, but only that. The labor field and how the people in that circle are was something that I did not like at all. That's how I started studying Psychology, here in Santiago, and where I've realized that this is what I really like: helping people with their emotional problems. Well, maybe why I liked the career is a much longer and more personal story hahaha XD. As for work as such, I know that many times you do not work on what you have in mind when you are studying, but it is still good to h...

The Best Concert Ever

I was lucky that my parents instilled in me very good music since I was a child. I grew up listening to rock and metal under the influence of my mom; disco music and classics like Frank Sinatra, thanks to my dad. But, without a doubt, one of my favorite bands was always Metallica, and I fulfilled my dream of going to see them in 2010, at the Club Hípico, here in Santiago. At that time I was 14 years old. To contextualize a bit, Metallica is a thrash/heavy metal band, with almost 40 years of musical career, led by James Hetfield (vocalist). It's one of the best known metal bands in the world, they're considered a music legend. I remember that concert as an experience that I had never lived, with all the people dressed in black, leather jackets, long hair and all that metal style. I was very young at the time and I went with my brother (who was 16 at the time), and I was still a bit scared, because in this style of music people usually go “mosh” when the heaviest songs be...

A Country I'd Like to Visit

Imagen
After thinking a few minutes about what country I’d like to go to, I think immediately in a country in our continent that has an attractive culture: Mexico. I chose this country because it has an amazing gastronomy, for example Tacos, Burritos, Mole, Pozole and all types of chilli peppers (I like so much the spicy food). Also, this country has very interesting celebrations, and there is one in particular that catches my attention: Day of the Death; this important day is celebrated on 1 and 2 November, and it’s considerate by UNESCO as an Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. I’d like to visit the Aztec Stadium, which is considered one of the biggest soccer stadiums in the world. Aztec Stadium has an 87.000 spectator capacity. Visiting this stadium is the dream of any soccer-lover hahaha. Also, I’d like to live there for a few months (maybe 6 months), because I want to be immersed in this culture, learn their idioms, enjoy the day to day, listen to their stories. And, obviousl...
